Book Trailer Ideas - How to Create Your Own Trailer For Your Book

A book trailer is a brief introductory video or trailer that introduces a book so that people are eager to read it quickly. If done well, having a book trailer on your website can really help boost your internet presence and help you to reach many new prospective readers. One of the most successful book trailer campaigns I have seen used this technique with Successful Book Trailer, a book about the top ten most successful people in history. The book trailer showed readers just what they'd be reading about in detail, including the people's e-books, where they could find more information about them, and what kind of sites they might find them at.

In my experience, the book trailer isn't as effective as the book itself in getting people to your website. It seems that people are more likely to open a book trailer if it comes from a famous person, but this doesn't always work for everyone. In addition, in my opinion, having a celebrity read your book works better than just having an unknown author read it because celebrities tend to be more credible and believable. You also need to know whether your target audience will accept a book trailer, since this will affect whether they click on it or not. For example, while I personally believe that videos on MySpace can work to increase reader exposure, the general public doesn't like being advertised to.

There are many other book trailer sites on the internet, but you'll probably want to stick to stock websites that are free. These sites offer creative commons licensed video files that you can use for your own projects. Video files from popular video sharing sites like YouTube and Vimeo are usually free as well. It's important to keep in mind, though, that many popular stock websites will charge you a fee to put a trailer on your site. The fee may not even be that much, depending on the number of pages you want added, so take advantage of their low start up costs and make sure you get your movie trailer onto the internet before your competition does.
